Song of the Moment: Goodbye to You, Michelle Branch.
There's a surprising amount of peace here. I expected rage and tears, but instead there's... vague and surmountable melancholy. I'm sad, but I should be. I owe that to the memory, if not the person. It is what it is and it was what it was. The sadness will pass, and there's someone sweet and very different on the horizon for when it does. Someone, perhaps, with the maturity to make it work. I loved, in every sense of the word, and lost in almost every sense.
I overestimated someone, underestimated a bunch of someones. It happens.
