So. Ed. Hmmm.
I like him. Tentatively. Of the options he's by far the best of 'em, but I'm not sure exactly what we should be feeling really. Best of a bad bunch? Good leader of the opposition but mediocre potential PM? Well, honestly, I'm not completely sure.
Of course, there's a teensy, tiny part of me that I try not to listen to that's saying...
"Well he sounds good! New generation, new Labour (as opposed to NuLaybuh), casting of the shadow that Blair left. Maybe they'll go back to their roots, the Blairites will be expelled and there'll be a whole, new age! He's talking about forward thinking, he'll probably be good for youth"
In other words, ladies and gentlemen, the rhetoric has gotten me. I've not fallen hook line and sinker, but I'm definitely sniffing the bait. I can't help it. Perhaps I'm the target audience- it'd be amusing if Eddie made getting young people involved in politics one of his personal projects.
But, I'm finding myself actually rather liking him. Which, in politicians, isn't necessarily a good thing; I'm an emotionally led person, and damn proud of it, but I'm aware that politics isn't really the place for it. That route tends to lead to... well... have you picked up a copy of the Metro recently? They seem to be advocating vigilantism as a solution to cuts in police spending, or am I inferring to much?
Anyhoo chaps and chapettes, watch this space. I might possibly develop some type of schizophrenia, where one side likes Ed and the other remains universally cynical. Of course then I might need two blogs and that would be just excessive, no?
Other news: I have an appointment with one of the more terrifyingly stern doctors at my local practice (GP himself is useless lump). We are talking Miss Minchin but with more flab around the midriff. If she were not responsible for my health, I'd tell her to ditch the biccies and take her own advice about getting regular exercise.
What? Cruel? Me?
Never!!
