Prezzies.

So, it's two days to Christmas, and for the next 48 hours I shall be obsessively cooking/preparing to cook. Menu for Friday includes Roast Pheasant with Chocolate Gravy, Ginger and Honey Roast Parsnips and Carrots and Stuffed Peppers, because our family is hella unconventional.

That, though, is not the point: I have prezzies! Sorta. Since this is not the season for discussing disappointment, I shall postpone my comments on Copenhagen until the New Year, and instead answer some of the questions you've sent me.

Why is your blog called Minutae, when it's spelled minutiae?

Minutiae (pronounced min-yoo-shi-uh)- Small details or intricacies. Irrelevant or trifling matters.

Minutae (pronounced min-yoo-tye)- The name of a fictional Seer (name based on minutiae) who recorded her visions for the heroine Serapha to find in a long dead webcomic that the Ex and I used to be fanatical about.M'kay?

Is 'TK' your real life initials?

No. Stop trying to stalk me.

How old are you exactly?

Okay, yes both this question and the last were from someone I don't know IRL. All together now, "STALKER!" And by the by, I'm old enough to smoke (though I don't) and young enough to not remember Maggie Thatcher's premiership.

What's your political position/affiliation/identity?

I've ignored a few emails with this question for a while, and I don't think I ever explicitly stated it on the Soapbox. Generally speaking, my ultimate ideal is an anarchic society, although I'm not stupid enough to think that such a society could actually function, because not everyone thinks like me.

Thus, I'm mostly a socialist, although there are aspects of socialism I dislike extremely. In a general election I'd most likely vote Lib Dem.

I like:
  • State run health services, armies, and schools.
  • Non compulsory secondary and tertiary education.
  • Legalisation of non coerced prostitution and all positions associated with it, and government regulated brothels and escort agencies.
  • Heavy taxation on prostitution.
  • Legalisation of cannabis, and government regulated/government produced cannabis to ensure quality and protect the livelihoods of people involved in the manufacture of cannabis.
  • Heavy taxation on cannabis.
  • Heavier taxation on alcohol and tobacco.
  • A voting age of 16.
  • Joining the Euro.
  • Nuclear disarmament.

Merry Christmas to everyone. See you, probably in 2010!
